The Laughlin Family Foundation Breaks Fundraising Record and Raises Over $243,000 at 4th Annual Golf “Fore” Rare Cancers Celebrity Tournament to Support Rare Cancer Research, Education, and Awareness
The Laughlin Family Foundation hosted its 4th annual charity golf tournament presented by Neil and Emily Kishter and raised over $243,000.00, which sets not only a new golf tournament fundraising record, but also a foundation record for most funds raised at a single event.
The all-day golf tournament at the Crofton Country Club in Crofton, MD on Monday September 9th, 2024 brought together over 150 golfers, over 30 sponsors and corporate partners, dozens of selfless volunteers, and several members of the Washington Capitals organization and team. This community came together to help raise funding and awareness for rare cancers. Throughout the day there were plenty of laughs, drinks, prizes, live and silent auctions, mulligans, marshmallows, hockey net drives, and a fan favorite “Beat the Joe” putting contest, where golfers attempted to putt golf balls farther than Capitals play-by-play announcer Joe Beninati.
A full cast of sports personalities, celebrities, and Washington Capitals players, staff, and alumni all joined Craig Laughlin and rallied around the cause. The list of VIP guests who participated in this years tournament included:
