Double Your Impact! The Laughlin Family Foundation Launches Annual Giving Tuesday Fundraising Campaign to Help Support and Sponsor Cancer Patients and Their Families this Holiday Season
The Laughlin Family Foundation launches annual Giving Tuesday campaign to help support and sponsor cancer patients and their families throughout the greater Annapolis area during the holiday season
The Laughlin Family Foundation is excited to announce their Giving Tuesday fundraising campaign and their partnership with Maryland Oncology this holiday season to help support and sponsor cancer patients and their families. A portion of all proceeds from this years’ Giving Tuesday week long fundraising campaign will be used to directly provide cancer patients and their families special holiday wish list gifts, meals, gift and gas card, wrapping, and other goods and services based on individual and family needs and wishes.
The campaign will begin on Monday November 27th and will extend through 9:00 pm EST Friday December 1st. Fundraising initiatives include direct donations, as well as a special online auction featuring one-of-a-kind sports memorabilia and experiences, including a large signed Alex Ovechkin and Nicholas Backstrom canvas print, a meet and greet with Locker, team signed Washington Capitals jerseys, bobbleheads, a Washington Wizards game day experience, Kenny Chesney concert tickets, and several other items. The auction, which ends on Friday December 1st, can be viewed here.
Thanks to the generosity of good friend and sponsor Metin Omer, up to $10,000 received in donations between Monday November 27th and Friday December 1st will be matched to support The Laughlin Family Foundation in this initiative. Every donation will be matched dollar to dollar, with the opportunity for donors to double their impact during this time of giving. The foundation’s goal is to support over 20 families and patients this year and to raise over $20,000.
“The holiday season is all about family, and we understand the extra strain cancer can put on patients and their families, especially during this time. We hope that our partnership with Maryland Oncology Hematology and Metin Omer can help those who are going through a difficult time and make things a little easier for them…and help provide a little hope, and put a smile on faces of those who need it, “ said Linda Laughlin, CEO of The Laughlin Family Foundation.
This is the third year in a row that the Laughlin Family Foundation and Maryland Oncology Hematology have partnered together on this initiative. Throughout the last 2 years, the foundation has helped support over 25 patients and families who were either actively going through cancer treatment, or families who had lost a loved one to cancer. Support has included shopping for special holiday wish list items, sending holiday meals to families, providing grocery gift cards for holiday shopping, gas cards to help travel to and from appointments, as well as make-a-wish meet and greets and experiences.
