The Laughlin Family Foundation to Host 2nd Annual Charity Golf Tournament - Golf “Fore” Rare Cancers
Join us for 2nd annual charity golf tournament, and golf “fore” rare cancers on Monday, September 12, 2022 at the Crofton Country Club.
We hope that you will join us again for our 2nd annual golf tournament. Last year, we sold out and raised over $90,000, which funded the first ever Endometrial Cancer Symposium (July 28-30th 2022 at Johns Hopkins Hospital). This symposium will bring together the best experts in the world to educate the community, doctors, nurses, patient advocates, and patients to discuss one of the fastest growing cancers in women - endometrial. In 2022, the American Cancer Society reported that death rates from women diagnosed with endometrial cancer are now neck and neck with ovarian cancer, largely due to rising incidence of aggressive and rare subtypes.
This year, we are continuing our fundraising efforts to help support endometrial cancer, as it is one of the only malignancies in which incidence and mortality are rising at an alarming rate. This is a tremendous public heath problem for women worldwide, and one that our foundation is on a mission to continue to support. We want to save women’s lives, and hope that you will consider joining us to support rare women’s cancers and help make this year’s golf tournament an ever bigger success than last year!
Enjoy a round of scramble style golf with your friends and favorite local sports celebrities on Monday September 12th, 2022. Celebrity list to include: Craig Laughlin, Joe Beninati, Rod Langway, Peter Bondra, Alan May, Karl Alzner, Al Koken, John Walton, Paul Mulvey, Ken Sabourin, NASCAR driver Ryan Ellis and more! (list subject to change).
Regular tickets for foursomes are available (admission for 4 golfers), as well as VIP tickets (admission for 3 golfers + an assigned sports celebrity from the list above), which can be purchased here. Tickets include golf carts, breakfast, lunch, happy hour, drinks, and a chance to win a car on a hole in one sponsored by Prince Frederick Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram. This fun day on the course beginning with an 11am shotgun start, is followed by a dinner banquet with the opportunity to mingle and socialize with our participating celebrities, and bid on unique and exclusive auction items and sports memorabilia. Winners of the tournament will also have their names engraved on the “Sunoco Cup,” presented by Sunoco at Waugh Chapel, which is awarded to the team with the lowest score. This year, we are also very excited to offer a one-of-a-kind presenting sponsorship opportunity. Thanks to the generosity of Tom and TJ Keen of Corvetteparts.net, our presenting sponsor will not only be prominently featured at our golf tournament, but will also have their company featured on Ryan Ellis’ No.44 Corvetteparts.net racecar at the NASCAR Xfinity Series race in Bristol, Tennessee on Friday, September 16, 2022. Two pit passes for the race will also be given to the presenting sponsor so that they can watch the race and see their logo on the car in real life!
